It’s time for the final Dealer Showcase!

Den Information!

As with previous years, we’re open on the Saturday & Sunday of the convention. and we know that many of you will be wanting to get in as early as possible to grab the best stuff, and get your commissions in with your favourite artists. We’re open from 11AM on Saturday (or 10AM if you’re a sponsor!), and 10AM on Sunday.

Just browsing? Want to pop in again later in the day? The den is open until 6PM on Saturday, and 5PM on Sunday - keep coming back to see what else is going on!

As usual, the convention has its own table where we’ll be selling ConFuzzled themed merchandise, including items from previous years at a discount price, and we do plan to accept Credit & Debit cards once again!

If you are bringing art to the auction - please remember it’s preferable to bring it on the Friday. We will accept items on the Saturday at the discretion of the auction administration staff, usually subject to available room.

That’s it! Excited? We sure are! Bring plenty of money, and buy yourself some furry items to take home and treasure forever!

ConFuzzled Art Show & Auction

As in previous years we’ll have our art show and auction as another chance to purchase furry artwork.

Don’t forget to stop by the art show to check out what’s available, and if you’re bidding, stop back regularly to check if you’re still winning! Many items make it all the way to the voice auction on Sunday night, and you’ll want to make sure you don’t miss out so turn up and bid!

Many items also carry a donation to the charity as a percentage of the final sale price, so by participating in the auction you’ll also be helping our charity too!

ConFuzzled 2012 Dealer Showcase 1!

With the convention now looming on the horizon, it’s time for us busy workers of the Commerce department to start highlighting some of the fantastic creative types you’ll be able to buy from in our lovely Dealers Den!

The Dealers den is an important part of the convention, and allows you a fantastic opportunity to buy gifts for yourself and others. Whether it’s purchasing furry art, getting a commission or two of your character / persona, or snapping up some ConFuzzled memorabilia, the Den is the place to go for all your shopping needs!

The best news is that with our new venue offering us more space, we’ve got even MORE dealers in the den this year, and that means that even if you’ve been coming to ConFuzzled since the beginning, there are bound to be some new dealers that you’ve not seen in the den before!

This year we’ve asked our Dealers to write their own promotional material for us to include, so in most cases what you see below are their own words on what you can find on their tables this year.

Colson Grainger

Our guest of honour is of course the talented Colson - singer, pianist, musical performer, we’re sure he’ll keep you entertained. From our website:

“Heya from Funlaser. Once again we'll be dealing and have brought along some very special shiny objects for you to peruse. Along with our usual items of DogTags, Pet/Collar Tags, BadgeTags and LED goodies. We'll also be bringing along a few special items that will only be available in the run up to, and at the con. These special items include: Clapperboards (both prop size and badges) and Filmstrip LED badges to fit the movie theme and Wooden DogTags and pegs to fit the 5th anniversary material theme.

Once again we'll be supplying every attendee with a DogTag and you can get your name on the reverse for £1. We'll also be able to engrave your drinking vessel. We are also working with a few other artists/dealers to bring some other unique and shiny objects to you Such as LED collars and lasered leather keyrings with Spiritraptor, Hand drawn Filmstrip badges with Panthras and a few secret items with Shirik. We'll also be providing a few things for auction so keep your eyes peeled.

This year we'll be running a slot based system. “Yes! It's that time of the year again when you get to frolic around the dealers den perusing packages and ogling art, checking out peoples wares and widgets! Spiritraptor AKA Leathersaurus is going to be back in full force with a whole new range of Artwork and Leather Gear, including some awesome collaboration work with the amazing Funlaser staff.

Like last year we will have some usual bits, leather key-rings, some basic collar designs including some fun collars and cuffs on the cheaper end of the scale. However we will also be bringing some more detailed, premium collars for those of you that want to look flash, also including some amazing LED tags Also I'll be debuting my new show collar to go into the art auction, The DragonRune; The story behind it shrouded in mystery and intrigue

On the Art front I will be taking sketch commissions both digital and traditional also including some more CF exclusive prints, only available at this event for this time only! There is also talk about having some art CDs and maybe even some portfolios to bring down as well, so stay tuned!

Registration Closing Soon!

We hope you've bought your ConFuzzled 2012 tickets from the Box Office already! But if you haven't, time is running out! The Box Office will be closing on Friday the 20th of April 2012, at 8pm British Standard Time (see http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?msg=ConFuzzled+2012+Registration+Closure&iso=20120420T20&p1=136 to find out what time this will be in your local timezone).

After this date, you will not be able to register for ConFuzzled 2012's residential registrations! So if you would like to stay at the wonderful Barceló Hinckley Island hotel, the venue for ConFuzzled 2012, you must make sure you register by then, and to make your payment in time for it to reach us by the deadline for your chosen payment method.

At this point in time, we will also lock down the ability to amend your registration. This includes convention badge pictures, so make sure you've uploaded your badge picture before the 20th of April!

After the 20th of April, we will still be selling our non-Residential registrations (i.e. Attending Only tickets) which will allow you access to the entire Convention - you would however need to find accommodation elsewhere. It is NOT possible to book directly with the hotel.

On the 18th of May 2012 at 8pm British Standard Time, registration will close completely for all ticket types. And just a few days later, we'll be welcoming you to ConFuzzled 2012!

Whilst we're talking about our registration... the red carpet will be rolled out earlier than in the past! For those of you that have chosen the "Early Arrival" option (and therefore arriving on Thursday 24th of May), registration at-con will be open Thursday evening between 8pm and 10pm. There's no need to wait til the Friday afternoon to register - you can show off your movie star status straight away! And on Friday, registration will be open from 10am. We wouldn't want to make the stars of ConFuzzled 2012 wait now would we?

Confuzzled Fursuit Dance Competition 2012

Fame? Street Dance? Footloose? or just Dirty Dancing?

Join us in on the Main Stage where we have our annual dance off competition. Our competitors will have to each strut there stuff and impress the audiance.

The audiance will then decide who will hold the title of Confuzzled Best Dance Act 2012. We'll have a panel of judges who will give their own take on each performance.

Any style is accepted and can either be by yourself or in a group so please sign up below if you would like to take part.

An Update on Registration and Hotel Capacity.

We have had an unprecedented start to registration for ConFuzzled 2012, with over 200 of you registering in the first four days! We cannot thank you enough for your support, and it is exciting to see many new names alongside a large number of regular attendees. However, as the registrations continue to pour in, we have had many people asking questions concerned that we will not have enough space for you all.

We would like to take this opportunity to clarify for you some numbers regarding hotel capacity and room availability to try and relieve some confusion.

In total, the hotel has 358 rooms (excluding four party suites), all of which can accommodate at least two people.
We have 50 rooms allocated for single occupancy.
If the convention sells all the rooms in the hotel, with these 50 as single occupancy and two people sharing every other room, this will allow for 666 residential attendees - around 200 more than the Britannia.
It is possible, however, for those attendees staying in twin rooms to choose to share with up to three other people, based on two people sharing each double bed. (If you wish to take advantage of this option, you and your intended room mates will need to e-mail our registration team at registration@confuzzled.org.uk).
If all attendees booking a twin room choose to have four people sharing, the hotel capacity will become 936 residential attendees.

Therefore, to clarify, this year ConFuzzled can accommodate between 666 and 936 residential attendees, depending on room sharing options chosen.

At this time, unfortunately, all spaces in Deluxe Doubles have been booked. However, when registering you can still opt for this room choice and join the waiting list. If any registrations are removed from the system, this may free up rooms and spaces will be allocated to those on the waiting list in order. In addition, we would like to let you know that 50% of the single occupancy rooms have been booked. Therefore, if you want one of these, please act fast before they are all gone.

Please note that in order to maintain our waiting lists, if you do not pay for your registration within the payment deadline notified to you by email then it is liable to be cancelled at any time.  You will receive an email to warn you if your payment has become overdue.

We would also like to remind you that when you register for a double or twin room, unless you choose your room mate and pair yourselves up in the registration system, you WILL be allocated a random room mate. This is unavoidable due to contractual obligations with the hotel, so please make sure that you sort out your room mate(s) early.

In order to allocate your room mate, you will need to log into the registration system with your details (received via email after successfully registering), and invite your desired room-mate to share using the "Send room share invitation" link. Your room mate will receive the invitation by email and once they have accepted it you will be confirmed as sharing a room. This option is only available after both of you have paid in full.

As per the above, if you opt to stay in a twin room and wish to share with 2 or 3 other people, you and all your intended room mates will need to contact our registration team. Unfortunately we are unable to offer a price reduction for three or four people in a twin room due to pricing constraints of our contract with the hotel - each person will need to pay for a space in a standard twin room.

We apologise for any confusion that this may have caused, however, we strive to offer the options that allow the best level of flexibility in keeping with demand.

Ladies and Gentlemen, it is with great pleasure that we can finally declare ConFuzzled 2012 registration... OPEN!

That's right, you can now register for this amazing UK furry convention taking place on 25-28 May 2012 in the fabulous four-star Barceló Hinckley Island hotel.

We'll be rolling out the red carpet and warming up the flashbulbs in anticipation of this star-studded event. But what do you need to do to be there? All you need to do is register with us and pay for your ticket to this star-studded world of glitz and glamour!

It's time to dust off that tuxedo, time to get that Marilyn Monroe costume freshened up, find that golden statue behind the sofa. Get ready for glitz and glamour - because ConFuzzled 2012 will be opening its doors to you very soon!

We are delighted to announce that we're rolling the red carpet out and opening registration at 2000 BST on Thursday 15th September!

As this time approaches, keep a close eye on our Twitter account (@cfconvention), website ( http://www.confuzzled.org.uk/premiere/attending/registering/ ) and the ConFuzzled forum where we will post the link to our registration system once registration opens.

Please take some time before registration opens to review the pricing and options available for ConFuzzled 2012 on our website.

Dealers - registration for the Dealers' Den will open at the same time as main registration. So if you would like to be in our Dealers' Den, remember to register early because when we run out of space, we won't be able to accept any more Dealers!
To register just click on the 'Dealers Den' box under 'options and extras' and fill out the form.

It's thanks to you that we've managed to raise so much money for our charity, and the fact we've hit the five-digit mark speaks volumes about your generosity. You've set yourselves a very high bar in 2011 - what will you achieve in 2012?

Charity Update Announcement

Hi everyone,

At the end of 2011's convention, we announced a total charity figure of £6,750 for the International Otter Survival Fund. We now realise that this figure is incorrect, and wish to rectify this.

We previously stated that included in the above figure, Microsoft would kindly be donating £1,350, but the powers that be decided against this figure and unexpectedly increased the amount to a staggering £4,400.

We are beyond ecstatic to announce that the new total is £9,800!

Many, many thanks to Microsoft for their continued generosity and to each and every one of our attendees that contributed to this amazing total.

New ConFuzzled 2012 website with convention dates, prices and location information

Hi all!

We've been working hard since the end of the last convention and we're now ready to tell you all about what we've got in store for you. However, there is one massive change: We're moving!

With 499 attendees in 2011, we reached maximum attendance at the Britannia Country House Hotel and we sadly must say goodbye to it and to Manchester. But fear not, our love of stars has made us seek out a larger, better, stronger, faster venue with four whole stars and brought to you live in high definition.

Our glorious new venue is the Barceló Hinckley Island Hotel in Leicestershire, and we're so chuffed with it, we've put together a little video to show you what's been making all the staff at ConFuzzled so excited for the past two months.

Badge Pre-orders

Yes, I am now accepting badge pre-orders. My plan is to accept these MUCH earlier than usual (I tend to open them REALLY last minute. I'm talking... The night before I set off) and getting them done waaaaay in advance so your badge will almost definitely be waiting for you to pick up at my table. The price is still ALOT lower than the price at the con (£15) and you still get the same quality, it's still laminated and you still get a badge clip. It's just this year I'm taking more pre-orders to give myself less of a workload at the con.

FINAL Dealer Showcase!

With the convention nearly upon us it’s time for the final Dealers Den update!

It won’t be long before you find yourself getting ready to head to ConFuzzled, and make sure that when you pack your bag, you leave plenty of room for the swag you’ll be bringing back, especially from the Den and Art Show – there’s so much to browse and buy, including from several dealers visiting us from abroad – it’s a great opportunity!

The Dealers Den will be open from 11AM on the Saturday of the convention, and if you’re a Sponsor, you can get in an hour early at 10AM!! The Den will open again on Sunday from 10AM (for all). Initial opening always sees a big rush of interest – if you have specific artists you’d like to see / commission, please arrive early to avoid disappointment!

This week in the dealers showcase, Roarey Raccoon, Korrok, Skaifox, and just a small mention of the Convention Store!

Roarey Raccoon

Roarey Raccoon is one our artists in the den this year. You’ll find Roarey’s art on FurAffinity (some adult art) – and it should be a great place to pick up art this year! Very cute, very toony art – you’ll want to cuddle it!

Korrok

Another of our artists this year – producing some fantastic full colour artwork – mainly realistic in nature, and you can have a browse over at FurAffinity (some adult art). Don’t forget to take a look at Korrok’s table this year to buy plenty of art!

Skaifox

Our final artist again produces full colour art, a great mix of toony / realistic art – you’ll be sure to find something good on Skaifox's table – and for a preview take a look at Skaifox's FurAffinity pages (some adult art). Don’t forget to take a look this year!

Convention Store

As usual, the commerce team will be manning our own table in the den – the convention store! You’ll find a big collection of ConFuzzled themed gifts including mugs, pens, t-shirts and much more!

As you know, our Charity this year will be the International Otter Survival Fund (IOSF) – and we aim to raise as much money as possible to donate! At the Convention Store, you’ll find a huge collection of Otter-themed gifts, including Otter Plushies, Badges, fridge magnets and more! Please buy an Otter-item – all proceeds go to the charity!!

Payment

A quick word on payment – in general most dealers will be expecting payment in cash. The convention store is planning to offer card payment – however as we are only a small business, we may have to pass on payment processing costs. Further, we regret that you will be unable to use our card payment facilities to pay for items from other dealers, and we do not have a cash-back facility.
We would generally advise you bring some cash to the convention.

The commerce team looks forward to seeing you in the den this year – we hope it will be a big part of your convention experience, and that you’ll go home with some great art and other furry merchandise!

Confuzzled Dance Competition

Join us in the nightclub where we have our first dance off competition. Our competitors will have just 90 seconds each to strut there stuff.
The audiance will decide who will hold the title of Confuzzled Best Dance Act 2011.

Any style is accepted and can either be by yourself or in a group so please sign up below if you would like to take part.

ConFuzzled Dealers Den Dealer Showcase!

It’s time for another Dealer Showcase (Sidebar: The Convention is only a month away!!!)

As you may be aware, ConFuzzled has a large and varied Dealers Den, with a variety of different dealers attending - you’ll find art, books, comics - even laser engraving! The dealers den is also a great place to get at-con commissions!

In the run-up to the convention, we’re showcasing some of the dealers you’ll find in the den this year - we really hope you’ll come along and see the fantastic talent, products and more - it promises to be a great place to bag some swag!

As you may know, the deadline for residential registrations has passed - BUT YOU CAN STILL REGISTER! Yes - attending only registration is still available until 22nd April, so if you haven’t registered yet (why not?!!) - then head over to registration today!!

Looking for a fursuit or fursuit parts? Look no further!

It can be hard to find the right builder for your next fursuit, and sometimes even harder to get a commission slot - but Schenzi lives right here in the UK, and has a growing talent for producing great fursuits!

Angyl

Angyl is also an artist in our Den this year, and I’ll post here the description provided as to what will be on offer this year!

“I shall have a large selection of things up for grabs, as I did last year. I'll be doing sketch commissions at the table and full colour commissions that I'll do after the convention and post on to customers when completed. In addition to this, I'll be selling hand-made crochet critters, small cuddly toys, keyrings, original art both framed and unframed, a selection of prints and greetings cards, comics and other bits and bobs. I like to offer a pretty well rounded selection of stuff, with items to suit all budgets.”

EuroFuzzled - April Fools!

Yep, some of you had guessed it – the merger between ConFuzzled and Eurofurence was an April Fools joke! ConFuzzled is staying as ConFuzzled, and Eurofurence as Eurofurence. We’re not planning to merge any time soon, and we already do work together a fair bit for each others’ conventions. We’re glad we have such a good relationship with the Eurofurence team and that they were happy to join in on the April Fools joke by redirecting their website to our announcement. Thanks guys!

ConFuzzled and EuroFurence Merger

We wanted to tell you about an exciting new development. Due to the success of ConFuzzled in the UK and EuroFurence in Germany, the directors of both organisations have agreed that it would be in the interests of development of social activities for furs to amalgamate into one pan-European organisation – EuroFuzzled!

EuroFurence is the most successful furry convention in Europe, with over 1,000 attendees attending in what is now its 17th year.

ConFuzzled is the most successful furry convention in the UK, with over 450 confirmed attendees in its fourth year.

Running a convention involves a lot of logistics and expertise, as well as time and commitment. In order to reduce costs and overlap, it is in the interests of both conventions to pool resources together. For example, it is inefficient for art show stands to be left idling in one convention’s storage space whilst the other convention is running and is in need of this sort of equipment. Or what is the point of having a convention badge printer for each convention when badges for both conventions’ attendees can be printed on the one machine? In addition, by using just the one registration system across both conventions, it means you will only need to register your common details (e.g. name, address) once. This means the time taken for you to register will be reduced!

So what will this mean? ConFuzzled will be known as EuroFuzzled – UK, and EuroFurence will change its name to EuroFuzzled – DE. You will undoubtedly already have noticed various changes around the website. However, there will be no changes to either EuroFuzzled – UK or EuroFuzzled – DE to you. No events scheduled will be changed, no changes will be made to the venue, or to what you’ve already registered and paid for. We will transfer your registrations automatically from the EuroFuzzled – UK and EuroFuzzled – DE registration systems into the combined system.

It is also important to stress that there will be no changes to how the conventions are run, until after EuroFuzzled – UK and EuroFuzzled – DE have taken place in 2011. Matt Lion will remain chairman of EuroFuzzled – UK and Cheetah will remain chairman of EuroFuzzled – DE.

We’re pleased with the way both EuroFuzzled – UK and EuroFuzzled – DE have grown over the last few years. It is only down to your support that we are able to continue offering great conventions. Thank you.
